A swiss steel watch

How much would someone spend for a mechanical and very precise swiss watch? The price range between 200 and 500 swiss francs showed a sharp rise of 13,6 percent in February compared to the last year, according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry. Steel was the metal, therefore, with a growth of 0,2 percent overall, while precious metals saw a sharp drop of -6,3 percent. If one does not prefer Swatch this price range of 200 to 500 francs is exactly what an ordinary swiss person would spend for his or her watch lasting for a lifetime. The market in the US, a main export market with China, recovered. In the luxury segment the sales are stable. Are these numbers a result of corona crisis? If the trend  continues we might find some precious watches at a much lower price with the challenge to hold on to prices of 500 francs and more.
