Save capitalism

27 Septembre 2020 , Rédigé par Madeleine Staeheli Toualbia Publié dans #clip hébdomaire

”We are rushing at the moment in the biggest recession of our lifetime“ (original: ”Wir rauschen momentan in die grösste Rezession unserer Lebzeit“), was the german economist Klaus Wellershoff, former chief economist at UBS, saying in an interview with cash.ch. The crisis is the crisis, a pulling effect is possible, therefore.

„Massive debts against the consequences of corona - what is the state able to afford?“ (original: „Rekordschulden gegen Corona-Folgen - was kann sich der Staat leisten?”) is asking the Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung at the University of Munich in a paper to discuss.

The pull already started, because it surely is not ignored what the italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben was writing in one of his short-text-quodlibets (Agamben, Giorgio. Quodlibet, „Stato di eccezione e stato di emergenza“, www.quodlibet.it, 2020/7/30) quoting a lawyer: „(...) the world as a whole is living more or less stable in a state (status) of emergency“ (original: „(...) il mondo intero vive (...) più o meno stabilmente in uno stato d’eccezione“) and further on: „(...) the pandemic infection of the virus (...) is an unforeseen coincidence and an opportunity to seize to hold under control the people of the subordinated“ (original: „(...) sia una coincidenza e un‘opportunità imprevista, da cogliere per tenere sotto controllo il popolo dei sottomessi“). But why this? „(...) the economic system of capitalism“ is not capable to confront its crises with the apparatus of the constitutional state, is Giorgio Agamben saying. The pandemic was invented - the question is how many would agree with such activities if they could decide.
