So rich

One of the richest persons on this planet is Jack Ma, founder of the chinese Alibaba wholesale platform and a former English teacher. Owning assets of about 40 billion US dollars he is also one of the richest men in China. In some countries to be so rich can be dangerous, one reason, according to ntv.de ("Jack Ma verlässt Alibaba-Spitze - Der reichste Chinese geht in Deckung", 2019/9/10), e.g., why he stepped down. We could talk about the assets of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife (and if she would prefer to be the richest woman on the planet after her divorce in the metaphorical sense of being his wife (just as a relation of two human beings) or in the sense of owning much money, if she had to decide between the two). To be rich and richer is a challenge, so why not talk about the money one owns if this is part of the social environment. The line might be thin between those who want to be rich or the richest and are becoming it with a well anchored business and those with less relation to cultural and social aspects. Luxury can be art and be seen as a work of art, without this culturally anchored relation ceilings in gold do not make any sense if it is not to show off. Be a billionaire and stand in your new home, let us say made of gold and any technial aspect possible, and imagine that you still think if your neighbour could have done better. This might be a way for some to celebrate pure envy (and maybe decadence) and for others to understand why the rich normally are not too much ostentatious, because others might become jealous or might try to follow without understanding the background. For those interested in culture and art there is much to discover even in show off villas.
