Downtown multifunctional

Cities downtown are thinking about attracting clients to their shops in times of online-shopping, shopping tourism and events. This was one of the points to discuss at the Retail Forum in Zurich, Switzerland, on November 8th. Matthias Böhm, CEO of Pro Innerstadt (downtown) Basel was saying, looking into the future, that people are asking about the use of properties (as it is normal to ask when something changes), but that this question will become less relevant in a sense that a property could be used in several ways, it could be a place for art as well a shop. He was the one of three downtown-city-leaders to see a development leading in this direction - cities are still planning in more conservative ways.
